Founded on December 12th 1968, the « Pays d’Albe” friends’ society was born thank to Eugène Hennard, professor, supported by Hubert Sonntag, Louis Kleber and André Monpere.

Around twenty persons, who had all a passion for local history, joined them. The society has a goal: to save and maintain, as far as possible, the historical heritage of Sarralbe and surrounding area, to encourage historical researches.

Since more that 50 years the association published yearly a magazine about its activities.

The Pays d’Albe friends’ society meets in a beautiful building, the Head House in the city of Sarralbe.

The association has a precious document library with more than 1500 books, magazines, a huge collection of photos, documents, testimonies. The collections were offered from many contributors who had conscious of the importance of giving a second life to these objects, books and photos.

Supported currently by 300 members, the association perpetuates the actions of its founding members. You can join the association too, through your membership or your engagement.
