On Sunday 27 June 2021, Michel Greff proposed in partnership with the Sarreguemines Confluences Tourist Office his outing "Tree energy and negative ions". We had followed him 2 years ago...

On the way to

A walk like no other…

One sunny afternoon in June, I took part in one of the visits led by Michel Greff in the Sitterswald forest. The theme of the outing arouses my curiosity, as well as that of the thirty or so people in the group. Let’s go for a 3 hours walk in the forest. Our guide knows the area perfectly and quickly takes us into a fascinating world. I learn that small flowers, shrubs, majestic trees, everything that surrounds us makes up a bioenergetic landscape capable of influencing our health and well-being. As we walk, we interact with the trees, we recognise each species for its own energetic characteristics and we are made aware of the importance of negative ions. At the end of the visit, I take part in a little unusual experience, the barefoot walk, a grounding in the forest. Back at the meeting point, everyone shares their personal experience. The exchanges between the participants are going well.

INTERVIEW

  • How was your passion for nature born? It was born from life on the farm, simple and authentic, in contact with animals and nature.
  • What inspires you? Beauty, colours, birdsong, the smell of flowers.
  • Why nature tours? They allow me to share my knowledge and add a social sense to my research. I think there are interesting discoveries to be made and experiences to be had in our gardens, on our doorsteps.
  • What is special about our natural heritage? We have within our reach a heritage with a high level of biodiversity. Nearby, we have remarkable and protected natural sites. You just have to know them well to appreciate all their qualities.

AS THERAPY

Do you know what sylvotherapy is? It is a practice that invites you to reconnect with nature. It consists of smelling the scent of the forest, hugging trees, listening to the rustle of branches, and diving into the green foliage. For being close to nature has many virtues.

What’s the point? The benefits are numerous… Among them: less stress, more energy and a stronger mind.

How do you do it? Turn off your phone, go to a forest (such as the Buchholz forest) or a wooded park in Sarreguemines or its surroundings, walk slowly and let yourself be carried by the energy of the trees. Without a defined route, let your senses guide you. Nature will do the rest.
